A
long, long time ago, my daughter asked me what my favorite movie
was. I didn’t even have to think about it, I responded immediately.
"It’s 'The Wizard of Oz'."
I
remember being a little girl watching television in absolute wonder
when Dorothy’s
house landed in Munchkin land. She opened up the door and instantaneously
everything went from black and white to brilliant, vivid color.
She was a stranger in a strange new land. Toto and Dorothy were, “Somewhere
over the rainbow,” but she wanted to go home.
Glinda,
the good witch of the East arrived in a beautiful iredescent bubble.
She informed
Dorothy that the only person who could help her get back home
to
Kansas was the great and powerful Wizard of Oz. But he lived
a long way off in Emerald City, and Dorothy would have to walk a
very long
way to get there. She gave Dorothy a pair of ruby slippers,
and told her to never take them off because they had magical powers & they
would keep her safe from the Wicked Witch of the West.
Dorothy
and Toto took off down the Yellow Brick Road in search of
the Wizard and Emerald City. Along the way Dorothy made three friends.
The
Scarecrow
who decided to help Dorothy get to Oz because he needed a
brain and surely the Great Wizard could help him get one. The Tin man
also
went along, besides he was in need of a heart. The Cowardly
Lion
wanted to help Dorothy, because he was badly in need of courage.
- What
they didn’t realize was that they already had everything
they desired inside of themselves, they just didn’t know how
to make it happen.
- They
didn’t even realize it as they demonstrated
intelligence, love and courage many times throughout the movie.
The
new friends had both happy and scary times during their travels
to The Emerald City. They braved apple throwing trees and
poppy fields
that made them fall asleep. When they finally made it to Oz the
Wizard refused to grant any of their requests until they
returned with the
broom of the Witch of the West. Once again they braved the obstacles.
There were Flying Monkeys, Dorothy’s kidnapping, and one
very cranky Witch. But in the end justice prevailed, the witch
was liquefied,
and they returned to OZ with broom in hand.
It’s understandable
why they were so dismayed as soon as they realized the Great and
Powerful Wizard of Oz was just an ordinary man hiding behind a
curtain…But
was he really just an ordinary man? You see the Wizard may have
been a very bad Wizard, but he was in reality a very good Hypnotist.
- He
convinced the Scarecrow that he always had a brain, all he
needed was a diploma.
- He
advised the Tin man that he had the ability to
love,
and gave him a heart shaped watch…The Tin man became a believer
when he felt sad because Dorothy was leaving him to go home.
- The
Cowardly Lion received a medal that said courage, and he
became a believer when
he read the word Courage printed on it and proclaimed “Courage
ain’t it the truth, ain’t it the truth”?
- Dorothy
only needed to click her heels together 3 times and say “There’s
no place like home”. She had the power to go home when ever
she was ready, because it was inside her heart all along.
The
Wizard and Glinda simply gave beneficial, positive suggestions to
the four
friends, who accepted them willingly. When this happened
the suggestions became a belief system, imbedded itself into the subconscious
and subsequently became a reality. This
is how Hypnosis works.
When
you . . .
- Want
to make a change,
- Believe
that you can do it, and
- Trust
the person who will facilitate you in helping to make that
change
PRESTO!
it happens . . . just like that.
Hypnotists
call it the Robot Body Theory. In other words, “What the mind can conceive the body
will achieve.” Through
Hypnosis it is possible to make positive life changes. You can stop
smoking, lose weight, manage stress, achieve
childbirth without pain, release fears, and the list goes on and
on! Hypnosis is an extremely beneficial way for you to overcome your
challenges
and establish a healthier way of living.
A
few years ago my daughter gave me a Video of the Wizard of Oz for
Christmas.
I asked her why she chose that particular movie and she
responded simply with…
“Mom,
you hypnotize people everyday, and they achieve what they are coming
to you for – just like the Scarecrow, Tin Man,
Lion and Dorothy did. The people who come to see you need help to make
changes in their lives, and you help them to believe in themselves…Mom
you are the Wizard. !…Mom you are the Wizard!"
So
I now invite you all to follow your yellow brick road. It’s
time to rid of yourselves of those negative habits and unwanted emotions.
It’s time to change them into positive approach. Because when
we feel good, happy, safe and secure with ourselves we come home. So
take the challenge and find the Dorothy, Scarecrow, Tin Man or Lion
within you and realize “There’s no place like home…there’s
no place like home”.
